Type of examination |
Oral group exam based on a synopsis prepared by the group. The group may consist of 4 to 6 students. The exam is conducted as a dialogue. During the exam, questions may be asked about the entire syllabus. The requirements for the written part is as follows:
The size specifications include the title page, table of contents, bibliography, figures, and other illustrations, but does not include any potential appendixes or annexes. Examination time incl. time used for assessment is as follows: - For 4 examinees – 60 minutes. - For 5 examinees – 75 minutes. - For 6 examinees – 90 minutes. There will be an individual assessment of each individual student’s performance. The assessment is an overall assessment of the written product(s) and the oral exam. Permitted aids at the exam: All. Assessment: The 7-point grading scale. Moderation: Internal co-examiner |

Learning outcomes and assessment criteria |

Overall content |
The course deals with the connection between the philosophy of science and the qualitative method. The course introduces the student to different qualitative methods and consideration is given to both practical and theoretical aspects and their potentials and limitations. The methods are illustrated from meta-theoretical perspectives and basic assumptions, and with consideration of the importance of the philosophy of science in relation to cognitive interests and knowledge production in the work of formulating research questions and carrying out scientific projects |
